Kernersville

Obituary

Born on October 30, 1955 in Forsyth County, North Carolina, where she lived most of her life, she passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Davidson County.

She was a woman of many talents and truly a jack of all trades. She previously worked as a CNA at Bradford Village in Kernersville, NC where her caring nature was put to good use. She found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved being outdoors, fishing, spending time at the beach, working on puzzles with her daughters, playing a good game of rummy, eating peanut butter crackers and writing poems. Above all she loved her family especially her grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart. During her time in the care of Piedmont Crossing she formed many special relationships and came to love the family she found there. Those friendships and the people who cared for and surrounded her became a very important part of her life.

She is survived by her children Janice, James, Jamie and Jeannette (Chris); her grandchildren Bryan (Ericka), Devin, Kaitlyn (Icely), Courtney, Chris and Christian; her sister's Gail (Walt), Jane (Mark) and Ruth (Bobby); brother's Bo (Susan), Tommy and Irvin (Kristy); and her former husband James. She was proceeded in death by her partner Pam; her mother Vera Griffin, her father John Griffin, Sister Audrey and her great granddaughter Evangaline.

She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, her quick wit, her many talents, her appreciation for the outdoors and all the little things that made her uniquely herself. Her memory will live on in the stories, her laughter and moments shared with those who loved her. A private celebration of life will be held by family and friends at a later date.
