Douglas Leroy “Doug” Tysinger, 71, of Trinity, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Born on January 8, 1955, Doug was a lifelong resident of Trinity and a man whose roots ran deep in the community he called home.

Doug was the son of the late Clara Mae Alexander Tysinger and Marvin Alexander Tysinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Wayne, Johnny, Bill, and Marvin Lee.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Debora "Debbie" Lynn Tysinger; his daughter, Ashley; his two grandsons, Mason and Grayson, who were truly the light of his world; as well as his sweet little dog, Ginger.

Doug was the proud owner and operator of Doug’s Masonry, a business built not only through hard work, but through a remarkable talent that earned him respect near and far. The beautiful masonry work he leaves behind stands as a lasting testament to his craftsmanship, dedication, and pride in what he did. He also enjoyed driving big trucks, but nothing ever compared to the love he had for masonry and the work of his hands.

Outside of work, Doug enjoyed fishing, trips to the mountains, and coconut pie. But above everything else, his family was his everything. His grandsons, Mason and Grayson, were his whole wide world, and he was theirs. The love between them was unmistakable and will remain one of the most precious parts of his legacy.

Doug never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and he could find a way to make light even in the darkest of moments. He was stubborn, sometimes wonderfully so, but beneath that strong will was a man who felt deeply, cared immensely, and loved fiercely.

To his family, Doug was far more than a father, grandfather, and husband. He was their protector, their hero, and the foundation of their family. Like the masonry he spent his life building, he gave those he loved something strong to lean on. His presence was a constant, and his absence is now felt in ways words cannot fully express.

Doug is already so very deeply missed. His voice, his humor, his strength, his stubbornness, and simply having him there will leave an emptiness that cannot be filled. Yet the love he gave, the family he protected, the memories he created, and the beautiful work he left behind will continue to carry his presence forward.

A small service will be held in the coming weeks. Details regarding the time and location will be shared by Doug’s daughter, Ashley, as arrangements are finalized.
