Dewaine Cecil Buchannon was born in High Point, North Carolina, to the late Ruben and Gertrude Buchannon. He attended Ragsdale High School. Dewaine was a homemaker and a talented handyman who loved fixing things. He was very smart and gifted in many different ways, and whenever anyone needed help, he was always there. He also enjoyed writing, reading books, and fishing. Dewaine was a resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Gertrude Buchannon; two brothers, Reuben Jr. and Ervin Buchannon; and one sister, Phyllis Buchannon.Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Yvette Carolina of Winston-Salem, NC; mother-in-law, Esther Carolina of Winston-Salem, NC; three daughters, Tammi Rumph of Greensboro, NC; Diawina Carolina, and Jamella Carolina; and two stepchildren, Curtis Carolina and Kahila Carolina, both of Thomasville, NC. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jah Carolina, Jabrii Carolina, and Ka’Lyria Carolina, all of Winston-Salem, NC; two great-grandchildren, Elena Enamorado of Thomasville, NC, and Jayce Carolina of Greensboro, NC; six step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Dewaine is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Buchannon (Maurice) and Denise Buchannon of Durham, NC, Shirley Buchannon of Tennessee, and Tonya Stricklin(Keith) of Greensboro, NC; his brother, Christopher Buchannon of Durham, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
